The stories behind the front page images. Every time you visit alibullock.com you will see a different image on the front page. The idea behind this was to give the viewer a different perspective each time and show off some of my very best photos. This is this is the story behind each one. In order to be considered for the front page the image has to be one of my best but also one that work well in a black and white format. While it never easy to pick, some of the best are here for your enjoyment. |

A cold day in late Jan, 2007. I was freezing and managing to be miserable and happy at the weather at the same time. It doesn't often snow in London, so this was a great chance to take some photos. |
One of my all time favourite photos of Caz - Taken in 2007 over her birthday week-end in Padstow where she was attending Rick Stein's fish school. Loved the place so much we named our dog after the town. |
| A lucky shot of Padstow staying still. Combine the great texture of the boat that he is sitting on and I felt that this was a shot that had to appear on the front page. | ||||
| A shot of Ivy and a personal favourite that I think looks good enough to make it to the front page. | ||||
| An old police box hanging on a building long since vacated as a home. The box was still in good condition and seemed to reflect a time long since passed now that we have mobiles and computers. | ||||
| A 4 am start in Tokyo took me to the famous fish market where I captured one of the best photos of 2008. | ||||
I took this photos while thinking about the design of this site - Luckily I had my camera handy and this shot was the inspiration for the travel theme that the site has using the B&W images. |
The Tate Modern in London - Where I first met Caz and a place that we have been so many times. |
Me and Padstow working on the book for HKDR. |
View of downtown Wanchai - Shows the beauty and the buildings of Hong Kong. |
View of our wedding cake - How could I not have this one up on the site? |
Photo of Caz in Cuba - She is keeping a keen eye out for any cup cakes that might be passing. |
| Stone Dragon that I noticed in the Temple of Mercy in Macau. | ||||
| Padstow our dog makes an appearance not only on the front cover of the HKDR book but also the front page of the web site | ||||
One of my best photos from Hong Kong that Managed to capture within my first month. Beautiful sky compliments the Star Ferry and the skyline behind it. |
A kind gift from my friend Fi - A Porsche and one to put on the front page of the web site. |
Another photo from Padstow - A fishing boat in the harbour - probably the only photo that looks better in colour. I'm still working on how to integrate this into the site. |
| The breath taking skyline of Hong Kong | ||||
A picture taken on a tram in Hong Kong - The origami was done by a bored commuter, but the skill to do this is amazing and it makes a great photo. |
This is a photo from Trinidad in Cuba. I took this over new year as the sun was setting on an old pier. It summed up the beauty of Cuba, yet showed how poor the place really is. |
Another photo from Cuba and one of my favourites - These guys were just talking and laughing in the street. I took this photo from a very low angle to emphasise the dog. |
Typical street scene in Cuba - An old car in a run down street. Still a classic car and even more a classic photo. |
A photo from NYC and probably one of the most easily recognisable of my set. Took this on my 30 Birthday. Don't think I would have wanted to be anywhere else. |
A classic view of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. I spent a long time looking for a different angle that other tourists would not have, and I think I succeeded fairly well with this shot. |
An award winning photo, this photo of a dolphin breaking through the water was taken in the Azores on our honeymoon in 2006 - Breathtaking wildlife and many images I wont forgot. |
| Photo taken on a very cold winter day in Chicago. | ||||
